This is so true, Banks don’t care, in nearly three years of trading, I’ve had 5 business managers with NatWest, and the last one left two months ago, and I’m waiting for a new one. In that time I’ve met only one, and she didn’t want to visit me at my premises, none have been interested in what I do, only how much they can charge me on Bank Charges now the two years free banking has ended or if they can sell me a new product (insurance mainly). As an ex Natwest Bank Manager, who remembers the old style friendly, hands on and interested side of banking, it is so disappointing that there is no longer a service, just a need to put a bum on seat and act as a Relationship Manager, which they can’t even do.

The only Relationship Manager I met actually told me that I know more about Banking and her job than she did, not really something I wanted to hear. In my mind it is excellent customer service which gets the customers back and repeat business is the key, which often leads on to new customers via referrals, and free advertising.

Great synopsis of the poor support from Banks Richard.

Trevor, I worked within the sector for a number of years and know how much it has changed. It’s clear that the Banks want to lend but only, and strictly on their terms. Which is a major shift, not helped by the continuing support of the state (read Taxpayer).
